Job Description – Oracle Linux EngineerAbout the Role:Oracle Linux Engineer to lead our Oracle Linux 7 to 9 upgrade program and strengthen our Linux operations and automation capabilities. This role will focus on lifecycle management, infrastructure automation, and long-term stability of our Linux estate.Key Responsibilities:- Drive the upgrade of Oracle Linux 7 to 9 across development, staging, and production.- Own end-to-end OS lifecycle management, patching, and compliance.- Automate provisioning, configuration, and upgrades using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (Shell/Python).- Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to validate workloads on OL9.- Implement security hardening, kernel tuning, and system optimization.- Provide operational support, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.- Maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for Linux platforms.Required Skills & Experience:- Strong expertise in Oracle Linux 7/8/9 administration and upgrades.- Proven experience with Terraform for IaaS provisioning and automation.- Hands-on with YUM/DNF, kernel upgrades, systemd, SELinux, firewalld, networking.- Proficiency in automation/scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible).- Experience with virtualization (VMware/KVM) and cloud (AWS/Azure/OCI).- Solid understanding of OS security hardening & compliance frameworks.Preferred Qualifications:- Prior experience upgrading Oracle Linux in large-scale enterprise environments.- Exposure to Oracle DB, WebLogic, or enterprise middleware on Linux.- Linux certifications (Oracle OCA/OCP, RHCSA/RHCE).
