Position Overview

The Service Engineer will be responsible for installation, commissioning, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of metrology equipment such as Zeiss Contour Testers, Zeiss Surface roughness testers, Vision measuring systems, Microscopy applications and other precision instruments. The role requires close interaction with customers, ensuring timely service and optimal equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

o   Install and set up new metrology systems at customer sites.

o   Perform calibration and acceptance tests.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

o   Conduct preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing.

o   Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues in equipment.

o   Provide remote and on-site technical support.

Customer Support

o   Train operators and quality engineers in using the equipment.

o   Maintain strong customer relationships to ensure satisfaction.

 Documentation & Reporting

o   Prepare service reports, calibration certificates, and installation documentation.

o   Maintain service logs and update service records in the CRM/ERP system.

Coordination

o   Work closely with the sales and application teams for smooth project execution.

  • Liaise with OEMs for spare parts and technical support when required.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.

Experience:

  • 1–4 years of relevant experience in Metrology equipment servicing or Industrial automation
  • Freshers with strong aptitude may also be considered.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Dimensional Metrology fundamentals.
  • Experience in similar instruments can be an advantage

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service orientation and professionalism.
  • Willingness to travel.

Work Environment

  • Field-based role requiring travel to customer sites (up to 60% travel).
