Were looking for a creative and cost-conscious Packaging Development Manager to lead packaging innovation within the Foods and Ice Cream business. This role is pivotal in delivering aesthetically appealing and functionally superior packaging solutions that drive competitive advantage and cost savings

  • Develop packaging designs that balance aesthetics, functionality, and value
  • Lead new packaging development (NPD) for product launches across formats and pack sizes
  • Benchmark existing packaging formats with internal and external references to ensure market competitiveness
  • Drive Design to Value initiatives, identifying material and process efficiencies
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, manufacturing, marketing, and sustainability
  • Support vendor evaluation, mock-up trials, and pilot runs
  • Ensure packaging compliance with regulatory and quality standards

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

Academic

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Polymer / Packaging Technology / Industrial Engineering.

Masters Degree (Preferred) in Packaging Technology, Materials Science, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.

Professional

  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in packaging development, innovation, and design, with strong expertise in materials, cost optimization, sustainability, and end-to-end packaging lifecycle management.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Expertise in packaging design, development, and material selection (plastics, paper, laminates, foils, sustainable alternatives).
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance & food safety standards related to packaging.
  • Experience in sustainable packaging solutions and eco-friendly materials.
  • Proficiency in cost optimization and value engineering in packaging.
  • Ability to collaborate with R&D, marketing, operations, and vendors for end-to-end packaging solutions.
  • Knowledge of packaging testing methods, shelf-life studies, and quality parameters.
  • Vendor development and management, including negotiation & sourcing.
  • Familiarity with automation, packaging machinery, and process improvements.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving & innovation focus
