Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated L2 Network Engineer with a strong background in LAN, WAN, and wireless network technologies, specifically with hands-on experience in Cisco 9k series devices. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of hands-on experience in network support and troubleshooting, and should be ready to join our team immediately. The position requires flexibility to work in shifts and is based in Pune.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Support and Troubleshooting:

- Provide L2 support for LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.

- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to connectivity, performance, and security.

- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of network hardware and software, particularly Cisco 9k series devices.

Configuration and Maintenance:

- Configure and maintain network switches, routers, access points, and firewalls, with a strong focus on Cisco 9k series.

- Perform regular network performance analysis and optimization.

- Manage network documentation and ensure all configurations are accurately recorded.

- Monitoring and Reporting:

- Monitor network performance and security using network management tools.

- Generate and analyze network performance reports to identify areas for improvement.

- Report and escalate issues to higher-level support teams as necessary.

- Collaboration and Support:

- Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network systems.

- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and junior network engineers.

- Participate in network-related projects and provide expertise in network design and implementation.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Minimum 3+ years of experience in network engineering, specifically in LAN, WAN, and wireless environments.

- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco 9k series network equipment.

- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).

- Proficiency in network management and monitoring tools.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work in shifts and handle on-call responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent.

- Experience with wireless network technologies and security protocols.

- Knowledge of network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
