Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end project management, from planning to deployment of a cross-platform instant messaging app.
  • Ensure End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) and advanced privacy controls are embedded by default.
  • Architect and guide the team through building a decentralized infrastructure.
  • Lead AI/ML integration for smart features like content moderation, message prioritization, and chat automation.
  • Implement offline messaging and file management solutions for an efficient, seamless user experience.
  • Manage integration of voice and video innovations and payment solutions for the platform.
  • Work with designers to ensure a minimalist, intuitive UI with customizability and accessibility for diverse users.
  • Ensure cross-platform syncing across mobile and web apps, ensuring a unified user experience.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience managing complex software development projects, with a focus on instant messaging, VoIP, or telecommunications applications.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects involving encryption protocols, such as E2EE, and strong knowledge of security architecture.
  • Expertise in decentralized systems and cloud-based architecture (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong experience with AI/ML integration into mobile apps, specifically in areas such as content moderation and chat automation.
  • Proficiency in backend languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go), mobile app development frameworks (e.g., Flutter, React Native), and front-end technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with blockchain or distributed ledger technologies (a plus).
  • Experience in telecom protocols (e.g., SIP, WebRTC, VoIP) and understanding of the challenges of building scalable, real-time messaging platforms.


Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with blockchain or decentralized technologies.
  • Experience in emerging markets, especially in Africa, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in cross-platform app development, user experience design, and payment gateway integration.


You’ll be part of an ambitious, purpose-driven team, working on a project set to reshape how people connect and communicate in Africa.
