About the role Are you a seasoned development professional ready to lead transformative projects that empower communities and foster resilience? SAID is seeking a dynamic Project Coordinator to lead and support child rights-focused community development projects across our global portfolio. This role is central to ensuring that child de-institutionalisation and reintegration efforts are delivered with excellence, and that child rights are embedded across all Salvation Army International Development initiatives. How you will make an impact Oversee the design, implementation, monitoring, and review of child rights projects with TSA Implementing Partners Collaborate closely with the Technical Adviser (Reintegration) to ensure quality technical support for de-institutionalisation and reintegration programs Support SAID to mainstream child rights across all projects and the project management cycle Manage donor requirements, including DFAT, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and policies Provide training, mentoring, and resource development to strengthen child rights integration Represent SAID in workshops, events, and strategic meetings Guide partners through the full project cycle using SAID’s Theory of Change and strategic frameworks Monitor project progress, conduct site visits, and manage risks and incidents appropriately Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with sustainable outcomes Develop tools and resources to embed child rights across SAID’s portfolio Train and mentor partners and staff in child rights programming Document and share learnings to improve future project design Build strong relationships with implementing partners, support territories, and International Headquarters Liaise with internal departments including finance, communications, and quality and safety Represent SAID externally to promote child rights and development impact What you will bring Degree in international development, social sciences, program management or equivalent experience Minimum 3 years in international development, with a focus on child rights or protection Knowledge of ACFID Code of Conduct, DFAT standards, UNCRC, and child rights programming Proven ability to build capacity and collaborate across diverse stakeholders Strong written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills Excellent planning, analytical, and time management abilities Working with Children Check (or equivalent) Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check Completion of all compulsory training modules (Code of Conduct, Safeguarding, ACFID PSEAH) Commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission and values Willingness to travel up to 60 days annually (domestic and international) and work flexible hours What we offer As a registered NFP we offer our eligible employees real and meaningful benefits such as; NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit ($2,650) Flexible working conditions Health, fitness and financial discounts / benefits Paid parental leave – 12 weeks Up to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave scheme Up to 5 days paid leave per year to ‘volunteer’ in a TSA program or activity Purpose driven career which has positive social and sustainable outcomes Employee Assistance Program – Independent confidential counselling service Opportunity for career development An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team members Positively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution How to apply Apply now and help communities thrive through transformative relationships and sustainable development.
