Head – Quality Role Description


Head of Quality should have strategic and tactical responsibilities for implementing Quality across the company. Strategic goal to exceed customer expectations for product quality, delivery, optimizing production quality levels and supporting operational excellence. Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to continuously improve the quality of the product & services. Responsible for all aspects of the Quality function. Lead and develop the Quality Management system, Purchasing, Supplier, Manufacturing & After sales service. Striving for best-in-class products and business practices to deliver to the customer’s expectations, managing teams and projects across the business.


Reporting To : Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location: Bangalore

Ideal Experience: BE/ BTech or ME/MTech - from Tier 1 institute with at least 18-25 years of experience working in Total Quality Management System in an Automotive/ EV industry/ Battery Industry.

Roles and Responsibilities:


Manufacturing Quality Assurance

• Monitoring the implementation and management of quality processes in the manufacturing unit to meet required specifications for quality and reliability during production.

• Overseeing the establishment of quality standards in the manufacturing unit and define the metrics required to assess performance of the quality.

• Ensure the systems and standards are deployed and adhered appropriately.

• Assist in continuous improvement of activities throughout the manufacturing processes ensuring that problems are prevented.


Supplier Quality Assurance

• Establish quality standards and define the metrics required to assess performance of the quality from suppliers.

• Ensuring compliance with legal and customer specifications and standards.

• Ensure effective internal and external audits to ensure that corrective actions are delivered, and noncompliance issues are resolved on time.

• Review product and process at regular intervals as per approved PPAPs during mass production and ensure consistency in manufacturing at supplier manufacturing locations.


Customer Quality Assurance

• Introduce standard cross-functional procedures for identifying, investigating, validating & executing customer satisfaction & safety campaigns.

• Monitor systemic root cause analysis capability.

• Ensure accruals & warranty cost management are in conformity with both cost saving and customer satisfaction.

• Monitor, support & ensure lesson learned application to new vehicle development & launches.


NPD & Reliability

• Evaluate the project status according to the different KPI (Quality, Performance, Cost, Time Schedule, Industrial, Purchasing, Brand) and deliverables expected at each milestone.

• Ensure that all project expected deliverables are achieved at each milestone by collecting evidence and managing interviews with the main actors of the project.

• Advise the project teams to deploy the quality actions (recovery plans) and all the methods needed to ensure the achievement of the Quality Product or Process results.

• Ensure that all the objective risks or gaps have a corrective action plan.

• Manage fleet software integrity, execute infotainment/Connectivity tests, compute, and report performance metrics.

• Confirm world class customer experience through focused structured and customer usage testing, identifying issues and confirming resolution before production approval. Quality Management System & Audits

• Monitor the analysis of product customer surveys and prioritize major areas for improvement in Quality policy.

• Oversee the QMS roll-out on the full value chain, including all customer touchpoints.

• Define and monitor the execution of Corporate Quality Audit Plan.

• Monitor the Quality and Compliance (COP) certification activities.

• Considerable and diverse demonstrable experience of leading a quality function with a proven track record in strategic quality leadership delivering effective quality strategies, policies, processes, and systems.

• Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components, and manufacturing technique

• Willingness to travel
