Job Title (Job Code):EN-SR-03: EDU Manager Traction and Energy SECPURPOSE OF THE JOB A Metier System Engineer specifies the standard architectures of one or several System Architecture Areas (SAA) and defined theMetier referentials and ensure a technical expertise for the projects (deployment, tailoring standard solutions, solving technicalproblems…)A Project System Engineer specifies, for a project, one or several System Architecture Areas (SAA) and/or associated sub-system(s)at train level and lead technically the engineering studies to design solutions related to his SAAs which meet the project systemrequirements allocated to them at train level.He is in charge of performing subsystem/component development activities and contributing to the purchasing ofsubsystems/components developed by suppliers.
ORGANISATIONOrganisation structure (job belongs to) Train SystemReports directly to (N+1):Metier SE: Technical Team Manager (TTM) - EN-SR-04Project SE: Train System Site Metier Manager (TSMM) - EN-SR-00Or Train System SAA Domain Leader (Deputy of TSMM) - EN-SR-01Other reporting to:Project SE:- PM2020 Project: Train Performance Manager(TPM) - EN-SR-10- Non PM2020 Project: Train System Engineer(TSE) - EN-SR-02Any SE: Sub-System Manager(s) - PB-BM-xx (xx = 03 to08)Direct reports (N-1):YesNetwork & LinksInternal Other System Engineers (SE), Technical Advisors (TA), Sub-System Engineers (SSE), Product Leaders (PrL) Procurement actors Train Project Engineers (TS, TD, TC, TE, RAMS, Transversedisciplines…) Site Engineering Planning Manager, Site Engineering Quality Manager Engineering Metier Leaders (TS, TD, TC, TE, RAMS, Transversedisciplines…) Component Development Sites Engineers System and Product Metiers NetworkExternal Commodity suppliersMAIN RESPONSABILITIESOn the SAA(s) for which he is in charge, the SE:Technical missions:Responsible for: Performing technical requirement development, coming from reference and applicable documents from Metiers, Standards,Certification, Safety, Platform and Customer, then the developed requirements allocation to the various subsystems Performing the transverse requirement development and allocation to the various subsystems in close collaboration with therelevant specialists, Defining the Train System architecture, operational modes and functionalities Ensuring consistency and compatibility between all the sub-systems specifications, Writing sub-system specification (RSL2, TPS) and, if needed sub-system architecture description (ADL2) according to train levelsystem architecture. Fill the “Entry “connector” to question the catalog of standard products. For non-catalog products, under Module authority: Writing the Tender Technical Purchasing Specification in bid phase. Writing the TPS1 for supplier consultation and manages technical contact (TPS2) until design has been frozen Driving technical relationships with suppliers with close management of QCD commitments (CbC), risks & validation (includingDesign Reviews with suppliers). Supporting TPM to define applicable train configuration Ensuring coordination between TxE/PU/Metiers on interfaces, performances, technical issues resolution during detailed designphase. On TPM request, participating to technical meetings with customer in order to provide support.V&V activities:Ref: HRM-RS-JDS-041 Page 53 sur 169 Version F Application date: 30/06/2023Responsible for: Defining and performing Train verification strategy in close collaboration with all Engineering metiers, Certification & Validationteams and Participating Units. Verify the System requirements definition and System Architecture design with all necessary verification means, includingmodelling and simulation means Writing the train level test specifications Ensuring the train integration and tuning.During train revenue service:Responsible for: Technical open issues resolution on TPM/TSE request, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure,QCD and reporting:Responsible for: Performing reporting at project level (to TPM/TSE, via KPI) and metier level (via weekly reports) Supporting TPM/TSE for implementation and update of Engineering risks mitigation plan, change order process and QCDoptimisation Providing Return of Experience (RoE) to be implemented in standard solutions to improve their related Q, C &TDMAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCESEducational RequirementsMandatory: Bachelor/Master of engineering or equivalent from educational degree,completed with experienceDesirable:ExperienceMandatory: Minimum 8years’ experience in Railways engineeringDesirable: Global understanding of overall internal processes(Tenders, Projects, Engineering, Procurement/Supplier,Industrial)Competencies & Skills Business English fluent Ability to convince, to be able to switch between problem perspective to solution perspective, to challenge and to be challenged Sense for coordination, good communication skills and team spirit Readiness to travel
