Job Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development & Marketing Specialist with expertise in the Indian Railway Bridge sector, fabrication of bridges, and cold rolled formed sections. The ideal candidate will be responsible for lead generation, tendering, client relationship management, and business expansion while ensuring technical and commercial excellence in project execution.
Role And Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales:
Generate leads and inquiries from new and existing accounts.
Conduct frequent visits to industry influencers such as consultants, architects, and contractors.
Develop marketing strategies for business expansion within the assigned territory.
Customer profiling to understand specific requirements.
Collect and analyze competitor intelligence and market trends.
Engage in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting for business growth.
Pre-Order & Tendering Process
Conduct site visits before order placement to understand application needs and value engineering.
Analyze and understand BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and specifications.
Prepare technical and commercial offers.
Manage RFQs, cost estimation, and timely quotation preparation.
Handle product costing & pricing using reference costing and Zero-Based Costing (ZBC).
Should be able to read drawings and correlate costs with them.
Conduct RMC & Contribution analysis on a quarterly basis.
Negotiate costs with suppliers in collaboration with the purchase department.
Ensure knowledge of duties, taxes, and localization benefits for imported parts.
Estimate costs related to packaging, transportation, and warehousing.
Tendering & Government Liaison
Manage online bidding on GEM Portal for railway tenders.
Develop business relationships with government agencies and private firms.
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities.
Prepare proposals, presentations, and reports for tender submissions.
Ensure compliance with tender specifications, industry standards, and legal requirements.
Participate in tender evaluation meetings and negotiations.
Client Engagement & Technical Support
Provide technical counseling and resolve client queries.
Effectively communicate client needs to the R&D teams for product enhancements.
Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.
Support the project management team during the handover of successful tenders.
Financial & Sales Performance Management
Follow up on payment collections for project execution.
Ensure collection reviews and target achievement through the sales team.
Prepare and maintain weekly/monthly sales reports.
Qualifications Requirements
Qualification: BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
MBA in Sales & Marketing
Key Competencies & Skillset Required
Expertise in tendering, bidding, and contract negotiation.
Strong project management and technical proposal development skills.
Ability to analyze cost estimations, timelines, and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to perform market research and competitor analysis.
Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset.
