The Role
As a CAE Engineer, you will be responsible for the virtual verification of our electric motorbikes, ensuring that designs meet all required performance, safety, and durability standards before physical validation. You will leverage advanced simulation tools to conduct structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics analysis, enabling us to optimize vehicle designs early in the development process. Your work will be crucial in identifying potential issues and refining designs to reduce the need for costly physical prototypes.
What You Will Do
• Perform advanced computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulations to verify the structural integrity, thermal performance, and aerodynamics of the vehicle.
• Conduct multi-physics simulations, including finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and thermal analysis, to assess the performance of vehicle components and systems.
• Collaborate closely with the vehicle design and engineering team to iterate on designs based on simulation results, optimizing for weight, strength, and durability.
• Develop and validate simulation models, ensuring they accurately reflect real-world conditions and vehicle behavior.
• Analyze simulation data to identify potential issues, such as stress concentrations, thermal hotspots, and aerodynamic drag, and provide recommendations for design improvements.
• Work with suppliers and external partners to validate and correlate CAE models with physical test data, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of simulations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of simulation processes, results, and recommendations, supporting the overall vehicle development and validation process.
• Ensure that all simulations comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, particularly those related to vehicle safety and structural integrity.
What You Bring
• 5+ years of experience in computer-aided engineering (CAE), preferably within the automotive or electric vehicle industry.
• Strong expertise in multi-physics simulations, including FEA, CFD, and thermal analysis, with proficiency in tools such as ANSYS, Hypermesh, or similar CAE software.
• Experience with vehicle dynamics and structural optimization, particularly in the context of electric vehicles or motorcycles.
• Deep understanding of material properties and their application in CAE simulations, including metals, composites, and plastics.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with design and engineering teams to optimize vehicle performance based on simulation results.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address potential design issues early in the development process.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in crossfunctional teams.
• Passion for electric vehicles and sustainable transportation solutions.
Great to Haves
• Experience with virtual verification of electric two-wheelers or motorcycles, particularly in the design of chassis, body, and powertrain components.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards related to vehicle safety, structural integrity, and thermal management.
• Familiarity with the challenges of designing for emerging markets, including infrastructure and environmental considerations.
