Lead Hardware Engineer

In collaboration with the USA based Aircraft OEM, We are developing an integrated avionics platform for civil aircrafts with vertically integrated systems, software and hardware that achieves streamlined cockpit experience for pilots, as well as smooth maintenance and ownership experiences for crew and aircraft owners.
About This Job Posting
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Embedded Hardware Design Engineer to lead our avionics hardware team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the avionics domain, with a proven track record of designing, developing, and testing complex embedded hardware systems.
Key Responsibilities:
● Technical Leadership:
o Lead a team of hardware engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
o Define and implement hardware design strategies and best practices.
o Oversee the entire hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production.
● Hardware Design:o Design, develop, and test complex embedded hardware systems for avionics applications, including circuit boards, power supplies, and digital and Analog circuits.
o Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as DO- 160G, DO-254, ISO 26262 and MIL-STD-461.
o Conduct detailed analysis and simulations to optimize system performance, reliability, and safety.
o Select appropriate components and technologies to meet stringent performance, environmental, and cost requirements.
● PCB Design:o Create detailed schematic designs and PCB layouts using industry- standard EDA tools.
o Perform signal integrity analysis and power integrity analysis to ensure optimal performance.
o Collaborate with PCB layout designers to optimize design for manufacturability and testability.
● Hardware Verification and Validation:o Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures to verify hardware functionality and performance.
o Conduct rigorous testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and environmental testing.
o Perform environmental stress screening (ESS) and other reliability tests as per standards like DO-160G.
o Analyze test results to identify and resolve issues, ensuring product quality and reliability.
● Collaboration:
o Work closely with software engineers, systems engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
o Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to procure high-quality components and services.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related field.
● Minimum of 10 years of experience in embedded hardware design for avionics and automotive applications.
● Strong proficiency in digital and analog circuit design, including high-speed digital design.
● Expertise in PCB design and layout using industry-standard tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence).
● In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as DO-160G, DO-254, ISO 26262 and MIL-STD-461.
● Experience with FPGA design and verification is a plus.
● Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
● Strong leadership and communication skills.
● Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
