Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Software Engineer with a strong background in Django, Python, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers Insureka’s cutting-edge insurance solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our platform is scalable, secure, and performant, enabling us to deliver seamless insurance experiences to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain scalable backend systems using Django and Python.
Design and implement RESTful APIs to support our insurance platform and mobile applications.
Collaborate with DevOps to deploy, manage, and scale applications on GCP, ensuring high availability and reliability.
Optimize database queries and manage data storage solutions, including postgres, to handle the specific needs of the insurance industry.
Implement robust security and data protection measures in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets our high standards for quality and performance.
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to enhance functionality and user experience.
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, applying them to improve our platform and maintain our competitive edge in the InsurTech space.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in backend development with Python and Django.
Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including experience with services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub.
Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
Experience with database management (PostgreSQL preferred.) and optimization.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Knowledge of software development best practices, including test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Nice to Have:
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of Indonesian regulatory requirements for data security and compliance.
Contributions to open-source projects.
