As Rippling continues to expand globally we are looking to hire an experienced, hands-on, payments partnerships leader in our Bangalore, India office. This individual’s primary focus will be on our local Indian payment partnerships with a secondary focus on our global / Asia-Pacific partnerships. The payments infrastructure our team works on supports Rippling's global products including Global Payroll, Employee of Record (EOR), and Global Contractor products. This role will drive long-term, strategic product and partnership decisions that impact the Rippling global business directly. The role will be part of the SVP of Global’s team and will focus on developing our global payments network through payment partner development and management, supporting product and engineering with core integrations, and coordinating with internal Rippling teams to ensure all technical, commercial, and operational targets are met. Expect exposure to Rippling leadership across multiple functions including Product and Engineering, Risk and Compliance, Legal, Finance, Customer Experience and Operations. The individual hired into this role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop new products, manage global payment flows, and optimize business lines all with a focus on partner development and management.What you will do
Primarily responsible for managing and expanding Rippling's payments partnerships in India with local banks, payment processors, and currency exchange platforms. For projects with a global or Asia-Pacific focus, you will be looked upon as a regional expert and will assist in future payments network and partnership development activities.Expand upon the engagement strategy we use with payments partners in alignment with the Rippling product and geographic strategy; act as primary relationship manager for global partners and own the project management activities like partner OKRs, weekly tracking calls, and internal coordination for related workstreams.Identify and address any blockers we face with payment partners to support the work of Rippling Product and Engineering stakeholders as we expand our offering in India and Asia-Pacific.Develop subject matter expertise on payments partnership capabilities including funds flow capabilities, account opening and onboarding, risks and operational challenges with partners, and long-term product opportunities in the context of Rippling's product areas.Drive cross-functional alignment when needed with teams including Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, Risk, Sales, Marketing, Finance and others to get things done. Projects may be related to market expansion, process improvement or optimization of current processes to drive growth in our business.Own key payment metrics for your markets and derive actionable insights into improving the experience for customers, improving operational performance, and ensuring cost efficiency and revenue maximization.
What you will need
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. Advanced degree is a plus10+ years of proven, relevant experience managing payment partners at a multinational corporation, corporate or investment bank, financial services firm, or similar experience at a fintech company (startup or later stage)Deep knowledge of Indian market including domestic payment methodsPrior industry experience in fintech product management, business development, partner management, or financial operations with financial institutions is a plusAn ability to think creatively and thrive in a dynamic, but often ambiguous environmentSelf-starter with excellent time management skills and ability to join calls as required in Asia-Pacific region plus occasionally North America (Rippling HQ is in San Francisco)Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience working with senior leadershipOrganised, attentive to detail, and intellectually curious
