Site Reliability Engineering principles and practices, coupled with core technology and domain expertise, to effectively develop software solutions which maximise the operational reliability of the Group's IT services, and meet business needs

Responsibilities

- Identify and contribute code-level changes which improve the reliability of application and infrastructure services that our builder and operational teams are accountable for.- Identify and contribute robust, high-quality code-level changes to the processes and tooling used by our builder and operational teams, improving the observability of the services which they are accountable for.- Identify and contribute code-level changes which drive down the operational toil and reduce the technical debt associated with the services that a team is accountable for.- Engage with BU builder and operational teams to triage priority incidents, facilitate blameless postmortems, and ensure permanent closure of incidents, including actioning of root causes and contributing factors.- Support the 24x7 online environment of our critical services through participation in on-call rotation and escalation workflows.- Identify and contribute code-level changes which improve the application and/or infrastructure design and architecture for services that a team is accountable for.- Make code-level contributions to the development and support of frameworks and tooling which teams across the Group can leverage to accelerate and standardise the adoption of SRE.- Be a passionate advocate for SRE principles and practices at a Chapter level by talking at internal meetups, sharing learnings at brown bags, or publishing technical blog posts.- Continue the development of our world-class engineering team by mentoring peers on- SRE best practices.- Monitoring and Incident Response (continuously monitor systems, detect anomalies, and respond to incidents promptly)- Automation of critical repetitive tasks, such as deployment, scaling, and recovery, to reduce manual effort.- Capacity Planning: SREs analyze system capacity, predict growth, and plan for resource scaling.- Maintain SLOs to measure system reliability.- Call rotations to handle emergencies
