Position Overview: Seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the Solar EPC Business operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, operations, supply chain management and business development within the renewable energy industry. They will be responsible for optimizing operational efficiency, driving business growth, and ensuring the successful execution of solar EPC projects from conception to completion.


A chief operating officer, is in charge of overseeing and enhancing organization’s day-to-day operations. The responsibilities include designing complicated systems, optimizing business processes, and ensuring that the company’s strategic goals are realized successfully.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives, including expansion into new markets, optimizing project delivery processes, and enhancing overall operational performance.
  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of solar EPC projects, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management, to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and key accounts to drive revenue growth and market expansion for the solar EPC business segment.
  • Operational Excellence: Streamline operational processes and workflows to maximize efficiency, productivity, and quality across all project stages, from design and engineering to construction and commissioning.
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to the solar EPC business unit, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement among team members. This includes training and development initiatives to enhance team members' skills in project management, technical expertise, and leadership capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, regulatory authorities, and other key stakeholders to ensure project success, customer satisfaction, and drive business growth and sustain long-term partnerships.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety and environmental sustainability throughout the organization.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the solar EPC business unit, monitoring project costs, revenues, and profitability to achieve financial targets and objectives.
  • Resource Allocation: Resource allocation, including budget, workforce, and technology, to various departments and projects. Effective resource allocation is crucial for achieving organizational objectives.
  • Supply Chain Management : Expertise in supply chain management is particularly important. To ensure a seamless flow of goods and services for the projects.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring the quality for the projects and should display skills related to quality control, process improvement, and maintaining high standards.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of leadership and success in senior management roles within the renewable energy industry, with a focus on solar EPC projects and exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Strong understanding of solar energy technology, project development processes, EPC project lifecycle, and BESS integration.
  • Excellent strategic planning, business development, and project management skills, with the ability to drive results and deliver on key performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates good business acumen, with a clear understanding of how businesses work and is knowledgeable in current and possible future practices and trends.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar credentials preferred.
  • 15 – 20 years of experience at senior levels, out of which at least 10 - 15 years should be as Head of SBUs, preferably in a similar industry like EPC, Project-based companies with Global exposure.
