For more details, refer to RoleThis position will hold responsibility for the overall accounting at state/project level. Detailed responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following broad areas:Role & ResponsibilityAudit Planning and ExecutionDevelop and implement an annual internal audit plan.Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of high risk within the organization.Execute internal audit engagementsRisk Management and ControlEvaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controlsIdentify areas of potential operational improvementProvide recommendations to enhance the organization’s risk management processesComplianceEnsure compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and regulatory standards.Monitor and report on the implementation of audit recommendationsStay updated on changes in regulations and best practices in internal auditing and non-profit governance.Collaboration and CommunicationWork closely with the Finance and Program teams to understand processes and identify risks.Communicate audit findings and recommendations to senior management.Continuous ImprovementPromote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of audit processes.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:Educational / Professional Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance/CA/Semi-qualified CAAt least 3 years of experience in internal auditing, preferably within the non-profit sector.Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.Highly proficient with accounting software.Proficient with MS Office, including word, excel and PowerPoint.Proficiency in spoken and written English or Hindi and regional language.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Preferred:Willingness to learn and adapt to changing environmentGood communicator with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to build rapport with people and work well with diverse teamsStrong work ethic and attention to detailDeadline orientedAbility to organize, prioritize, and work independentlyExperience in a similar position/role will be an added advantageHow to ApplyTo apply please submit your application to with the subject line ‘Application for the position of ‘
