We’re offering a two-year Traineeship where you’ll gain hands-on experience, build valuable skills, and complete a Certificate IV in Business Administration, all while working with passionate teams who are committed to your growth. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our customer and administrative operations. You’ll support the teams by managing customer requests, coordinating special events and workshops, and ensuring our service is always customer focused. It’s a great opportunity to develop your confidence, communication, and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment. Further job responsibilities include: Delivering excellent customer service through prompt and professional responses to enquiries and requests Providing administrative support including processing invoices, managing requisitions, preparing reports and correspondence Assisting with meeting coordination, including agendas and minute-taking Acting as the Authority and TRIM Champion for your department Read the position statement to learn more. The position is located at the Council’s temporary Administrative Building at Wallsend until further notice. You will be expected to work 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Candidates who have completed a Certificate IV in Business Administration qualification or higher may not be eligible to apply. WHAT WE OFFER Receive a wage whilst studying towards a qualification starting from $855.38 per week plus 12 per cent superannuation Payment of all course fees Paid time to study and attend compulsory classes Yearly pay reviews and increases based on performance 35-hour working week with nine-day fortnights Four weeks paid annual leave Be mentored and work closely with a team of qualified professionals in a supportive, empowering, innovative and collaborative work environment Along with many other perks that come from choosing Lake Mac ABOUT YOU We are looking for people who: Have completed a Year 12 High School Certificate or equivalent, with satisfactory English and Mathematics results Are interested in Asset Management, and/or Environment Are committed to completing the training course requirements over two years Enjoy working in a team that strives to meet customer needs Have good attention to detail, and sound communication and interpersonal skills Have experience with computer systems such as Microsoft Word, Outlook or Excel Have a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to learn while working full-time Hold a minimum of Class C Driver’s license.
