Our Digital Sales Experience area focuses on technology for engaging with potential bank customers, helping them to understand our bank and services, and providing them with easy to use and efficient application experiences that are relevant to their unique needs.
As an Engineering Chapter Lead you will build and guide a team (chapter) of Engineers spread across multiple delivery squads and working with technologies such as Adobe Experience Manager, Java Spring Boot, React, AWS, and GCP, with an initial focus on product areas such as Customer Tools, Calculators, and Forms. You will work closely with other chapter leaders, product owners, and our leadership team to ensure that your chapter always has the right capabilities in place to deliver product quickly and safely to our customers.

What will your day look like
As a chapter lead, you will bring domain knowledge or deep expertise to this task and develop this expertise and T-shaped capabilities in your chapter members. Importantly, chapter leads care for and nurture the growth of their chapter members to ensure they are inspired by a sense of purpose and are continually building their mastery and autonomy. You need to be able to get hands on – you may join a squad and do heavy lifting in the code, solution design, or bug solving when needed. Finally, your chapter and the Tribe will look to you to champion best practices in Engineering, driving the adoption of effective processes, best in class tooling, and automation at every turn.
Technology leadership:
Producing Engineering roadmaps for your chapter Getting hands-on to help to design and build solutions Establishing best practices and coaching Engineers on what “good looks like” Unblocking teams when they are in trouble
People management:
Recruiting and building your team Supporting and growing your people HR, goal setting and performance management Managing contractors through Vendors Building our Engineering Community Leading initiatives for our uplift in people, process, and technology Supporting the Asset Health and compliance for our systems
What will you bring?
Leadership:
Extensive experience working in agile teams and managing stakeholders Amazing team leadership and soft skills - building and coaching your team, managing stakeholders, communication, performance management, conflict resolution. Ability to build and articulate a strategy and roadmap for both the short-term and long-termStrong software engineering fundamentals:
B.Tech or BE preferred Ability to write performant, testable, reusable code Knowing when and how to apply DRY, KISS and SOLID Solid understanding of agile software development methodologies
Relevant tech experience:
A minimum of 13+ years’ experience as a Full Stack Engineer
Web Applications and their underlying technologies (both frontend & backend)
Experience building responsive websites with frontend web tech (e.g. HTML, JS, CSS, React, Angular...)
Backend programming, especially Java 1.8 Onwards (multiple languages preferred)
Storybook
Test automation frameworks (e.g. Mokito, Mocha, Jest, Enzyme, Playwright, K6)
Devops approaches utilising containerisation, CI/CD, and IAC
Version control (GIT) & branching strategies
Package and build management (E.g. GnuMake, Maven, Gradle, NPM, Yarn, Grunt)
Basic linux administration
Cloud environments (e.g. AWS or GCP)
Monitoring technologies (e.g. Dynatrace, Splunk, New Relic)
API design and development (e.g. REST, GraphQL, Cloud API technologies)
Strong understanding of accessibility for web experiences
Good to have Tech Experience:
AEM (6.2 – 6.5)
Dispatcher configurations -
AEM component development
Understanding of AEM stack: OAK, JCR, AEM, Sling
AMS (Adobe managed services)
