  • Rolepurpose: An Engineering Project Lead Engineer is a technicalleading member in the project team. She / He is responsible for thecorrect design of the solution for our customer within the budgetand deadlines. She / He holistically designs biomass energy plantsand does the calculations of combustions systems heat exchangersand auxiliary plant equipment. She / He leads the layout designerand the mechanical engineer / draftsman and coordinates and followsup the detailed design of the project. She / He cooperates closelywith the Project Manager.

    • Calculations:

      • Energybalance calculations in order to meet the contract requirements(using standard spreadsheets)
      • Calculations forcompleting the energy plant: pumps fans emission reductionequipment... (using spreadsheets)
      • Checking/reviewing of subcontracted strength calculationson boiler parts/adiabatic components/piping flexibilitycalculations
      • Defining the loads on the steelstructure and followup of the steel structurecalculations.

    • Design:

      • Project overallengineering responsible.
      • Transferring theenergy balance calculation into a holistically designed plantlayout
      • Creating the P&ID (usingAutoCad P&ID software) and component list (together withthe control & automation engineer the E&I engineerand the project manager)
      • Checking the budgetconsequences of the design decisions
      • Creatingand releasing of technical datasheets and constructiondrawings

    • Leading the team and support:

      • Is responsible for completing the engineering work for aproject assigned to his team. He plans the work distributes thetasks at hand follows up and releases finished work.
      • Manages his team plans in the manpower and follows up onprogress of the work.
      • Communicating andconsulting with the project manager and if needed with the clientLDE MDE and subcontractors on engineering matters
      • Issuing and discussing the design control check list withthe Project Manager and the Project Fiels Department beforestarting up the energy plant
      • Support sales fornew upcoming projects.
      • Supports procurementfor technical evaluation of supplier offers andsubcontractors

    • Administration:

      • Ensuresthat his team registers accurately the spent hours.
      • Support for specific parts of the instructionmanual.
      • Creating documents related to thecertification of the energy plant (pressure equipment directive(PED) IBRcertification …

    • Health & Safety:

      • Respect of H&S legal requirements andothers (ex. standards) and H&S VYNCKErequirements.
      • Responsible for assuring that aninstallation can be built and used in a healthy and safemanner.
      • Responsible for risk assessment on thedesign of an installation ( Hazop....) organization ofHazop.
      • Responsible for defining the preventivemeasures in a manual.

    • Team Management and support:

      • Responsible for leading a small team.

      • Ability to troubleshoot and rapidlyshift multiple priorities.

      • Provide mentorship and resolve issues within theteam.

      • Responsible forgrowth and sustainability of FV knowledge concerning corecomponents.
