We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with a strong background in Travel GDS and Reservations to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the travel industry, particularly in managing products related to GDS and reservations systems. You will be responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring that our solutions meet market demands and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Vision:
- Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for GDS and reservations systems.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Define product roadmaps that align with company goals and customer needs.
Product Development:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, sales, and marketing.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring timely delivery of features and enhancements.
- Create detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with key stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and obtain feedback.
- Act as the main point of contact for all product-related queries and issues.
- Conduct regular product reviews and updates with senior management and other stakeholders.
- Market and Customer Insights:
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and preferences.
- Analyze user feedback and data to continuously improve the product.
- Identify and evaluate new market opportunities and potential partnerships.
Go-to-Market Strategy:
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective go-to-market plans.
- Ensure successful product launches through coordinated efforts with sales, support, and marketing teams.
- Monitor product performance and gather insights to refine future strategies.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in product management, specifically within the travel industry.
- Proven track record of managing GDS and reservations systems.
- Strong understanding of the travel industry ecosystem, including airlines, hotels, OTAs, and other travel services.
Skills:
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with travel technology standards and protocols (e.g., XML, EDIFACT, NDC).
- Understanding of software development processes and agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Trello.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
