Job Summary:

The User Access Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of user access controls across the organization’s IT systems and applications. This role involves administering access rights, enforcing security policies, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The Specialist will work closely with various departments to manage user access needs and ensure that appropriate access controls are implemented and monitored.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the lifecycle of user accounts, including provisioning, modifications, and deactivation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Implement and manage User Access Operations Policies and SOPs covering account creation, modification, removal and elevated privileges.
  • Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and ensure access is granted based on the principle of least privilege.
  • Ensure that new user onboarding and off-boarding processes are handled efficiently to maintain security and operational integrity.
  • Process and validate access requests using predefined workflows, ensuring that all access changes are appropriately approved and documented.
  • Administer user account permissions and access controls across various platforms.
  • Conduct periodic access and privilege account reviews to align with business and regulatory needs.
  • Manage compliance monitoring, reporting and remediation following audit findings related to user access.
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, HR and other business units to ensure secure and streamlined access management process.
  • Perform regular internal and external audits of user access controls to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
  • Prepare audit documentation and reports, addressing any findings or recommendations from audit reviews.
  • Lead and mentor teams responsible for operational delivery of access management.
  • Identify process improvements for joiner, leaver and mover cycles.
  • Stay updated with latest in identity management technologies regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Assist in preparing for and responding to external audits and compliance reviews related to user access.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related fields.
  • Professional certifications like CIAM, CIMP, CISSP, CISA or related fields. ISO certification is desirable.
  • 8+ years in user access management, Identity and Access Management or IT operations with at least 3 years in lead role.
  • Strong technical skills in account lifecycle management, privileged access, RBAC, and supporting IAM solutions (Sailpoint , Octa, Azure AD etc).
  • Experience in Regulatory compliance, process improvement and risk management.
