Our client invests in various energy-related businesses domestically and internationally, aiming to enhance its renewable energy capacity and support a low-carbon future. Notably, to expand its renewable energy business internationally, our client has made significant investments in India's renewable energy sector.

Job Profile – Data Center Business Development & Project Manager

Location – Delhi

Preferred experience – 8+ years

The Role

We are looking for a Business Development & Project Manager (BD-PM), focused on the Data Center vertical market, to lead the establishment and growth of our data center operations in India also who will be responsible for leading the company's efforts to expand relationships with large, multi-location customers. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in the data center industry and possess fluency in Thai, English (Hindi is optional but added advantage) to facilitate seamless communication across teams in India and Thailand.

Responsibility

Business Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan to establish data center operations in India.
  • Identify market opportunities, target industries, and potential clients.
  • Define and oversee financial models, budget planning, and investment strategies.

Market Research & Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed market research to analyze demand, emerging technologies, and competition.
  • Identify suitable locations for data center development considering power, connectivity, and infrastructure.

Identifying and Pursuing New Opportunities

  • Lead Generation - Identifying and qualifying potential clients and partnerships that align with the company's goals. 
  • Proposal Development: Crafting compelling proposals and presentations to secure new business. 
  • Negotiation: Negotiating contracts and terms with potential clients and partners. 

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary liaison between Indian stakeholders and Thai-based corporate leadership.
  • Build relationships with government agencies, regulatory authorities, and key clients.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all legal, environmental, and data protection regulations are met for data center operations.
  • Work with consultants and legal teams for necessary clearances and approvals.

Vendor & Partner Management:

  • Identify and negotiate with hardware suppliers, telecom providers, and technology partners.
  • Establish partnerships with local service providers and construction firms.

Project Execution:

  • Oversee the construction, commissioning, and launch of the data center facility.
  • Ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks are met.

Sales & Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for the data center services.
  • Identify key enterprise clients and service providers in need of hosting and cloud solutions.

Cross-Cultural Communication:

  • Facilitate seamless communication between Thai and Indian teams, leveraging language skills.

Must - Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in the data center, IT infrastructure, or cloud services industry.
  • Proven track record in business development, project management, or data center operations.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in India for data centers.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in Thai and English (both spoken and written); proficiency in Hindi is an added advantage
  • Has a proven track record of presenting to customers, influencers and at industry trade shows and events.
