Overview :

The Manager Data Scientist - Fraud & Risk Analytics plays a crucial role in the organization by leading a team of data scientists in developing and implementing advanced analytical models to detect and mitigate fraudulent activities and assess risks. This position is essential for safeguarding the organization's assets and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead a team of data scientists in developing and implementing machine learning models for fraud detection and risk assessment

- Identify and analyze patterns and trends in data to improve fraud detection algorithms

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop solutions to mitigate fraud and manage risk

- Utilize statistical modeling techniques to identify potential risks and opportunities for enhancement

- Develop and maintain data visualizations to communicate insights and findings to stakeholders

- Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify anomalies and potential fraudulent activities

- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in fraud and risk analytics

- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations based on data-driven insights

- Evaluate the effectiveness of current fraud detection and risk management processes and propose improvements

- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions

- Collaborate with senior management to align data science initiatives with organizational goals

- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards in all analytical efforts

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide mentorship to team members

- Manage and optimize data infrastructure and platforms to support fraud and risk analytics

- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Required Qualifications :

- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field would be a plus

- Proven experience in leading a team of data scientists and driving impactful results

- Demonstrated expertise in fraud detection and risk management within a financial or e-commerce setting

- Proficiency in Python, R, or other programming languages used for statistical analysis and machine learning

- Extensive knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques

-Strong understanding of database management and query languages such as SQL

- Experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js

- Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business strategies

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

- Proven track record of delivering innovative and impactful solutions in fraud and risk analytics

- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to fraud detection and risk management

- Strategic mindset with the ability to drive organizational change through data-driven insights

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus

- Previous experience in mentoring and developing junior team members

- Certifications in data science, machine learning, or related fields are preferred
