About Business Line
RTP(Risk Technology Platform) team serves the SSGA Risk Business, SSGA Senior Business by providing Aggregated enterprise Risk monitoring covering all the Risk verticals(Investment Risk, Counterparty Risk, Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk) and asset classes(EQ,FI,ISG,FX,CASH,Alternatives).
Key Responsibilities & Experience Range
The ideal candidate will be:
Business Systems Analyst role in Risk Technology Platform will require demonstrated excellence in business analysis, development of business process flow diagrams, making comparisons regarding current and future processes and effective communication.
This role will involve interpretation of business needs and translation into application and operational requirements.
Subject matter expert who can proactively identify and act on opportunities to improve current processes to meet the changing requirements of customers, to improve efficiency, or to reduce risk
The candidate should have interest and flexibility in learning different areas based on the project requirements.
The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills that foster close collaboration with various partners throughout the business and technology teams.
In addition this role expects the candidate to carry Project Management activities for Risk Technology Platform team.
They should be highly knowledgeable in Agile methodology and scrum and enforce the Agile practices in the team.
Skills & Knowledge
Qualification & Certifications
8-12 years of professional experience in a Business Analyst Role in asset management industry with knowledge in Portfolio Risk management
Strong written and verbal communication skills required to liaise with the business, developers, QA, and operations
Strong analytic, debugging, problem solving and collaborative skills
Experience with multi-asset class proprietary / vended risk analytics engines (e.g. Bloomberg Port+, BarraOne, Axioma) is preferable
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
Primary Skills (Must Have)
Understanding of Portfolio Risk Management Domain (Investment Risk, Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk) in relation to Asset Management business.
All aspects of Requirement Gathering, Data Analysis, Gap Analysis.
As a product owner track the status of various development/support activities IT team has undertaken and discuss this with Business in the status meeting.
Lead the various IT/Business initiatives in Risk Technology platform by coordinating with Internal Application team, Business users and other stakeholders across the organizations team.
Track the development/support initiatives owned by other BA’s in the team.
Produce Analysis and functional specification documents (BSD/FSD)
Produce Test documents and assist in validation for different initiatives capturing various use cases.
Excellent Documentation Skills
Assuming ownership of problems and driving towards their resolution
Functional/Acceptance Testing of own & others applications
Scoping of work streams and estimation of proposed work
Effectively manage day-to-day tasks / activities in coordination with a team of developers to effectively meet the deliverables
Should be able to train and lend support to various business and technology teams as necessary
Excellent Communication skills
Be proactive in identifying and communicating the risks
Collaborate and communicate well with the internal and global teams as required
Provide ongoing support for level three production issues.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have)
Good SQL knowledge would be added advantage
Understanding of Tableau Reporting tool would be beneficial
Any specific experience with data management best practices, data governance, data quality controls, regional or regulatory reporting requirements is preferable
