The Principal AI Enterprise Architect will lead strategic initiatives and architectural governance in the AI domain, ensuring alignment with BT's enterprise architecture and business goals.

What you'll be doing
  • Working with the Data Science and Strategy teams to define the AI architecture strategy and blueprints.
  • Operating as an expert in AI to set the technical direction and provide advice and guidance to engineers, ensuring that solutions are developed in line with the strategy.
  • Create AI roadmaps that support the BT Group strategy and drive business outcomes.
  • Evaluate and select AI frameworks, tools, and platforms.
  • Define and evolve BT's strategic AI architecture across all units.
  • Establish standards, policies and procedures as needed to ensure consistency and compliance within a governance framework.
  • Ensure ethical AI practices and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to operationalize AI models.
  • Establish a community of interest in AI and ML to increase education and awareness.
Skills and Experience

The skills you will need to succeed

  • Deep understanding of AI/ML frameworks and their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Understanding of model governance, bias mitigation, and explain ability.
  • Forward-thinking attitude, constantly innovating and keeping up to date with the latest trends in AI.
  • Expertise in enterprise data architecture and data governance frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Experience you would be expected to have

  • Overall 8 plus years of experience with a minimum of 3 years' experience in AI/ML, with a focus on Gen AI.
  • Experience in deploying AI solutions at scale to deliver on business outcomes.
  • An understanding of AI Ethics Polices and compliance.
  • Experience in software engineering best practices such as code reviews, testing frameworks, maintainability and readability
  • Strong experience with data engineering technologies.
  • Experience of navigating large, complex, organisational structures and challenging the status quo.
