Position Overview
Cogniter Technologies is seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our IT team. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing IT infrastructure to ensure security, availability, and peak performance of servers, systems, and networks. This role offers excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, maintain, and optimize servers, systems, and hardware
Manage LAN, WAN, VPNs, and related network components
Provide technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues
Monitor system performance and network activity using monitoring tools
Implement and enforce IT security policies, firewalls, and access controls
Ensure data security through regular backups and disaster recovery processes
Install, configure, and update applications and system software
Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues to minimize downtime
Document infrastructure, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
Collaborate with IT team members on upgrades and infrastructure projects
Qualifications
3–6 years of experience in system administration or IT support
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux systems
Expertise in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
Hands-on experience with Active Directory and user account management
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex IT issues
Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery tools
Familiarity with IT security best practices
Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Certifications
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
CompTIA Network+ or Security+
Linux certifications (RHCSA or equivalent)
Personal Attributes
Proactive and detail-oriented
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
