We are an IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) licensed Direct Insurance Broking Company based out of Kolkata with operations on a Pan India basis. We are a highly regulated entity and demands strict adherence to the Regulator's guidelines. We have a tie-up with all the leading Insurance Companies and we provide customised insurance solutions to our esteemed clients.
Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Senior Financial Accountant. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, maintaining financial records, Statutory Payment and Filing and desired MIS for Senior Management.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of accounting and finance
- Strong Analytical Skills and Knowledge of Finance Principles.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Tally
- Experience in Financial Reporting and Financial Statements Preparation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
- Strong Problem Solving and Organizational Skills.
- Experience in the BFSI segment is a plus.
Role & Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
o Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with accounting principles.
o Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data for reporting purposes.
o Provide timely and insightful financial information to support decision-making.
o Entity level and group level financial reporting – weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
o YoY comparison reports.
o Prepare month, quarterly, and annual financial statement packages of the entities within the group
IT Filing:
o Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations related to IT filing.
o Prepare and file income tax returns for the organization, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
o Address any tax-related queries or audits efficiently.
GST Compliance:
o Manage and oversee the GST compliance process.
o Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns.
o Stay informed about changes in GST laws and update processes accordingly.
TDS Management:
o Handle TDS compliance, including deduction, payment, and filing of TDS returns.
o Reconcile TDS accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
o Keep abreast of TDS rate changes and regulatory updates.
Accounts Finalization:
o Lead the process of accounts finalization at the end of each financial period.
o Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate a smooth audit process.
o Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for various balance sheet and income statement items.
o AP and AR process handling.
o Project accounting, invoicing, collection, and project reporting.
o Project budget and utilization reconciliation with timesheets.
o Expense and revenue forecasting and fund management.
o Full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, partner payments, and reconciliation of AP ledger.
o Full-cycle accounts receivable, including invoicing, collection, reconciliation of AR ledger, and revenue forecasting.
o Follow up with Insurers for outstanding receivables.
Process Improvement:
o Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting and tax-related functions.
o Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
o Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations and roll out reconciliation procedures.
Compliance Management:
o Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
o Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure "Nil" revenue leakage.
Team Collaboration:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and operations, to gather necessary information and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Others:
o Implement and maintain financial reporting procedures to comply with internal and external reporting deadlines and requirements.
o Prepare and reconcile financial statements like balance sheet, income statement, cashflow, and fund allocation.
