Job Title: Senior Atlassian Migration Specialist Function: Atlassian Tools Administration, Migration, Jira & Confluence Cloud, Agile, DevOps, Python, Cloud, AWS, Linux/Unix Location: Bangalore Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Jira & Confluence Migration Specialist to execute our migration from Atlassian Data Center to Atlassian Cloud. Additionally, migrating data between Jira environments and executing project imports is a must skill This role requires deep expertise in Jira and Confluence administration, strong migration planning skills, and hands-on experience with Atlassian migration tools. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to ensure a smooth migration with minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Jira/Confluence/JSM System administration
  • Supports Agile tool adoption and consistent utilization, to ensure that the process is driving the way the tool is utilized.
  • Actively work on user tickets related to Jira/JSM/Confluence.
  • Actively participate in the planning, execution, and management of the Jira, JSM and Confluence migration from Data Center to Atlassian Cloud.
  • Migrating data between Jira environments and executing project imports.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of comprehensive migration strategies and project plans.
  • Write automation and scripting for migration and data integrity
  • Perform post-migration adjustments, including screens, schemas, and workflows.
  • Utilize Atlassian migration tools (e.g., Jira Cloud Migration Assistant, Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant) for efficient and accurate data transfer.
  • Identify and proactively address potential migration risks and challenges to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of Jira architecture, migration methodologies, and cloud technologies during the migration process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, data accuracy, and successful migration outcomes.
  • Contribute to documentation of migration processes, lessons learned, and best practices.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Jira/Confluence/JSM system administration
  • Jira Workflow experience including:
  • ScriptRunner/Groovy
  • Jira Misc Workflow Extension (JMWE)
  • Jira Workflow Toolbox (JWT)
  • JSU Automation
  • 10+ years of proven experience migrating Jira from Data Center to Cloud environments.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with data transfer, system configuration, and user setup in Atlassian environments, including post-migration fixes.
  • Solid understanding of Jira configuration and development principles, managing both global and local configurations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Jira architecture, various migration strategies, and cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency in Atlassian migration tools with awareness of common migration challenges and proven mitigation approaches.
  • Strong understanding of the core concepts and differences between Jira Cloud and Data Center environments, and their implications for migration.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills.
