Role Overview

As a Backend Engineer at Dropty, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic, APIs, and database architecture powering our home baggage check-in and delivery platform. You will work closely with mobile and web teams to ensure seamless integration, scalability, and compliance with aviation security standards (BCAS/DGCA/IATA).

Responsibilities

1: API Development & Integration

  • Build and maintain REST APIs using , Laravel, and Django (Python).
  • Integrate third-party APIs (airline data, Google Maps, payment gateways, etc.).
  • Ensure secure and efficient data exchange between mobile apps, admin panel, and backend systems.

2. Database Management

  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas for scalability and reliability.
  • Implement data backup, migration, and security protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation data security standards.

3. System Architecture & Performance

  • Develop scalable, modular backend services.
  • Implement caching, load balancing, and monitoring for high-performance systems.
  • Optimize API response times and server efficiency.

4. Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with frontend/mobile teams to ensure smooth integration.
  • Maintain clean, well-documented, and testable code.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technology roadmap.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of backend development experience.
  • Strong expertise in
    , Laravel, Django (Python)
    .
  • Solid understanding of
    REST API architecture
    .
  • Proficiency in
    PostgreSQL
    (schema design, optimization, query tuning).
  • Experience with
    Google Maps API, FCM, and third-party integrations
    is a plus.
  • Familiarity with
    cloud deployment (AWS/GCP/Azure)
    and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) preferred.
  • Understanding of
    security protocols and compliance standards
    in logistics/aviation is an advantage.
