Job Title: Plant Head – Spiral Pipe Mill (Mild Steel Pipe Division)
Location: Bamhori, Raisen District, Madhya Pradesh
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Head for our new Spiral Pipe Mill, which will manufacture pipes with diameters ranging from 329mm to 1000mm. This is a leadership role that requires a proven track record in managing spiral mills, as well as the ability to build and lead a team capable of running a high-performance manufacturing unit.
Important Note: Only resources with experience in Spiral Pipe Manufacturing need to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning: Lead the installation and commissioning of the Spiral Pipe Mill, ensuring smooth setup and transition into operational status.
Leadership & Team Building: Recruit, train, and manage a team of skilled technicians and operators, ensuring the development of a highly competent workforce capable of running the mill across three shifts.
Production Oversight: Supervise the entire production process, including pipe forming, welding, beveling, and hydrotesting, with a focus on meeting quality and efficiency targets.
Operational Management: Develop shift schedules to ensure continuous 24/7 operations. Oversee all aspects of the mill’s performance, including production planning, quality control, and adherence to safety standards.
Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance schedules and oversee breakdown maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and high operational efficiency.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure that all processes adhere to BIS 3589 standards and other relevant industry norms, maintaining high levels of quality and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Background: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
Industry Expertise: Extensive experience in managing spiral pipe mills, especially producing small to medium diameter pipes. Strong understanding of pipe forming, welding, beveling, and hydrotesting processes.
Leadership Skills: Proven leadership experience in managing and developing teams, with a focus on operational excellence and workforce motivation.
Technical Competence: Sound knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance practices for spiral pipe manufacturing machinery.
Process Knowledge: Deep understanding of the BIS 3589 process and other industry regulations related to pipe manufacturing.
Personal Qualities
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply common sense and experience to resolve operational challenges.
Excellent communication and team management skills, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
