About the Role -
Required Competencies:
Above 8+ years of experience as Backup SME with technical leadership skills.
A self-driven, highly organized SME who has extensive technical skills with multiple backup, storage technology and an excellent communicator.
Expert Level knowledge in Commvault, Veeam, NetBackup and DELL EMC Avamar.
Technical Expert who can handle the environment without any dependency and guide the backup team on daily operations.
In-depth understanding about Backup architecture, and storage repositories.
Should have experience in Build and configure of Backup servers, Appliances and its components.
Responsible for gathering requirements, installation, configuration, and testing of backups in a high availability enterprise system.
Perform routine disaster recovery scenarios.
Maintain backup policies and standard Storage Retentions.
Troubleshoot performance problems and propose solutions.
Availability on priority / escalation tickets and Bridge Calls.
Work with Product support vendor for chronic issues.
Assisting team on Offsite Data Storage and delivery.
Maintain all equipment for backup environment to include servers, disk, and tape storage devices.
Create and maintain in-house documentation for repeatable processes.
Knowledge on ITIL processes like Incident management, Problem Management and Change Management processes.
Excellent problem solving, planning and organizing skills, a flexible approach with good verbal and written English communication skills.
Experience on Tape array, drives and Library Management.
Backup Installation and configuration experience with Windows Server 2012 R2 and above, Solaris, RedHat Enterprise Linux and higher.
Knowledge on SAN and FC networks.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP communications.
Ability to understand Business requirements and translate them into technology solutions.
Participate in 7x24 on-call support rotation and expected to work during mission critical situations.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with Windows Servers and ITIL.
Knowledge of Windows Cluster and Linux operating systems.
Knowledge of VMware ESX and Hyper-V.
Knowledge of Monitoring tools and configuration.
Experience in SAN, fabrics and Host to SAN connectivity.
