Today, Kauvery is a multi-specialty hospital chain with 2250+ beds in six locations including Trichy, Chennai, Salem, Hosur, Tirunelveli and Bengaluru. With twelve hospitals and a workforce of over 8000+ Kauvery’s mission is to provide exemplary secondary and tertiary care.

Job Description

The Scrub Nurse in the Cathlab provides critical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures. The role includes preparing and maintaining sterile environments, assisting the surgical team during procedures, and ensuring patient safety and compliance with protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and Sterilization:

- Prepare the Cathlab suite by ensuring all necessary equipment and instruments are sterile and functional.- Set up the sterile field for procedures and adhere to strict aseptic techniques.

Intra-Procedure Support:

- Assist the cardiologist and surgical team during procedures such as angiograms, angioplasty, and pacemaker insertions.- Hand over instruments and supplies in a timely and precise manner.- Monitor the sterile field and ensure all practices comply with infection control standards.

Patient Care:

- Ensure patients are positioned correctly and are comfortable during procedures.- Monitor patient condition alongside the Cathlab team and respond promptly to any emergencies.

Inventory Management:

- Maintain an inventory of Cathlab supplies, including catheters, guidewires, and other specialized instruments.- Replenish stocks as needed and report equipment issues promptly.

Documentation:

- Record procedural details, including instruments used and patient responses.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records as per hospital protocols.

Training and Compliance:

- Participate in regular training to stay updated on Cathlab procedures and technology.- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Skills and Competencies

- Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control.- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.- Familiarity with Cathlab equipment and cardiovascular procedures.
