Job Description
Red Ember recruitment is recruiting for a Payroll Supervisor for their client in the North of Johannesburg. To support the Group Payroll Manager in ensuring smooth payroll processing resulting in in all employees being paid correctly and timeously, in full compliance with legislative framework. 
  • Process assigned payrolls accurately and timeously.
  • Verify the optimal integrity of employee information (i.e. personal, financial, job related) by ensuring that necessary corrections are processed on the system.
  • Provide support to Human Capital (HC) departments of divisions and to Payroll team to investigate and resolve payroll related queries
  • Ensure that tax validations are done and resolved monthly.
  • Identify any needs for improvement of processes and procedures and communicate these to relevant stakeholders.
  • Control team’s compliance with agreed processes to ensure clean audits.
  • Process batch input from Payroll Administrators.
  • Ensure all monthly payroll reports, checks and balances are processed.
Lead the team
  • Lead and manage the team
  • Facilitate team problem solving and decision making
  • Review skill set of team, identify training needs with members and facilitate the necessary training
  • Resource the team and recruit when required, manage individual performance of team members and apply all relevant Human Capital practices to ensure an engaged and focused team
  • Ensure that all Human Capital and Employee Relations related issues in the department are addressed
  • Drive Talent Management and succession planning

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Payroll Administration with a minimum of 2 year’s exposure to team leadership/supervisory role
  • Experience in managing significant payroll volumes
  • Exposure to a manufacturing environment

Qualifications 
  • Grade 12 
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources/Finance/Accounting
