Job Purpose

Sannam S4 is seeking to appoint an ambitious, target-orientated team player to engage with the Country Adviser, in enhancing its capacity to engage internationally and expand the student recruitment market in India.

The key objective of the job will be to advise and assist Client in enhancing its capacity to engage internationally, and to strengthen Client’s associations and partnerships within India and neighbouring regions in collaboration with currently assigned Client’s Designated Country Adviser in Sannam S4’s Delhi and Bangalore Office.

In the above regard, the candidate will be expected to provide assistance in recruitment coordination services in support of Client’s International Student Initiative's (ISI) endeavors throughout India, and secondarily in neighbouring countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, in order to increase international enrolments from the region in bachelor’s degree programs at both Client Vancouver and Client Okanagan campuses.

The candidate will also provide effective recruitment and advising services to students identified by Client whoare attending secondary schools in India and neighbouring regions, as well as to their school counselors, parents and others.

The candidate should have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and should have the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders in the education sector.

As the candidate will be working remotely with the University’s on-campus team, staff and advisers acrosscountries, he/she should be highly organized, self-motivated and comfortable working with differences in time zones.

This role will require the candidate to spend considerable time travelling to cities within India, to the University(at least once a year) and meet virtually with various ISI colleagues. Therefore, he/she is expected to be flexible to work during weekends and evenings, as required.

Main Responsibilities

Under the guidance provided by ISI’s Director, Global Recruitment, and Manager Recruitment and supporting the existing Designated Adviser in SannamS4’s Delhi and Bangalore offices, the candidate will undertake the following:

Provide information to Client with regard to strong secondary schools in India and neighbouring regions to enableClient to buildrelationships with such schools;Support Client Personnel in planning and organizing recruiting and outreach eventsfor prospective students, their parents and counselors;Advise and assist Client in identifying opportunities to increase brand awareness and market visibility for Client, advise on marketing and communication strategies and viable advertising opportunities in the Indian market and other means of raising awareness aboutstudy in Canadaat Client;Liaise closely with the International Student Initiative (ISI) Office at the Client in Vancouver, Canada and acts as a key contact for ISI staffand other Client Personnel visiting India;Act as a contact withthe Canadian consular offices and keeptrack of changes that may impactprocessing of Canadian StudyPermits for students fromthe region; andProvide support for independent applicants to Client’s bachelor degree programs.

Recruitment coordination

Advise and support Client’sInternational Student Initiative's recruitment initiatives in India, and neighbouring countries, in coordination with existing Designated Adviserin Sannam S4’s Delhi and Bangalore office, by:

Contacting schools andcounselors to schedule visits for Clientrepresentatives, sending confirmations, pre-booking hotel and arranging groundtransportation as necessary;identifying suitable recruiting events, exhibitions, fairs, and promotions for Client to participate inbooking venues for information sessions and yield eventsand assisting withpromotions and registrations;carrying out post-activity follow-up, including compiling data on studentleads, preparing and submitting reports on outcomes to Client;traveling acrossIndia to visitkey schools andeducation fairs or other recruiting events, in consultation with Client staff to collect relevant information;assisting Client personnel in effectively delivering presentations about Clientand about studying in Canada, of both apersuasive and informational nature, to large or small groups; andassisting Client personnel in effectively communicating the Canadian advantage and the University's key selling points vis-à-vis other post-secondary options in the US, the UK and elsewhere.

Student advisory

Assist CLIENT Personnel in the provision of effective advisory servicesby phone, email, on virtual presentation platforms, and in person to prospective students,parents and counselors by:

applying knowledge of: undergraduate programs available on both campuses, admission requirements, application procedures, English language proficiency requirements, support services available, tuitionfees, scholarships and financial assistance, etc.;supporting applicants in providing Client with the necessary documentation to complete their evaluations for admission, encouraging individual students throughout the application process;providing advice and assistance to newly admitted students on the Canadian Study Permit process, requirements and timelines to enable themto complete theirapplications for their Study Permits in a timely manner;exploring opportunities for Client to develop virtual connections and engaging with students in the region through various social media channels frequented by Indianstudents and reporting on same to Client; andparticipating in interactive virtual advising sessions with prospective students from the region in conjunction withthe ISI teamfrom Client.

Expertise and research

Draw on an in-depth knowledge of India's and neighbouring region's secondary education systems; qualification equivalencies and advise ISl's Director,Global Recruitment, as well as ISI’s Manager, Global Recruitment, on how best to position its requirements to attract well, qualified students from strong schoolsto the University's degreeprograms.Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the University's degree programs open to international students, its admissions processes and students services, and identifies the best valueproposition for Indianstudents.Carry out market research and environmental scans,noting any trends or changes in thecountry or to school systems within the region that Client should be awareof.Develop and maintain key contacts list, monitor international application numbers and report on same to Client’s ISI department.

Other

Understand limits to knowledge, and refer complex issues or difficult situations that arise to the ISIDirector, International Recruitment Asia and Europe and ISI’s Manager, International Recruitment, Asia and Europe, depending on the nature of the difficulty.Maintain good communication protocols with the ISI supervisors and colleagues, participating through virtual means ( Zoom, or other) in weekly ISI team meetings, providing ISI Manager, Global Recruitment, with weekly updates on activities and plans, confirming status of projects in process, checking on priorities, and agreeing on work load.Conduct advisory services including support for recruitment, in a professional manner, observing confidentiality in relation to Client data, market intelligence, and other knowledge and information about the university. Comply with the University's policies pertaining to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, subject to Indian law.Participate in training virtually from India, but also by visiting Vancouver for special ISI training and orientation sessions.

Any other duties as directed, commensurate with the scope and classification of the position.
