Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Software Engineer with a strong background in Django, Python, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers Insureka’s cutting-edge insurance solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our platform is scalable, secure, and performant, enabling us to deliver seamless insurance experiences to our customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable backend systems using Django and Python.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs to support our insurance platform and mobile applications.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to deploy, manage, and scale applications on GCP, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Optimize database queries and manage data storage solutions, including postgres, to handle the specific needs of the insurance industry.
  • Implement robust security and data protection measures in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets our high standards for quality and performance.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to enhance functionality and user experience.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, applying them to improve our platform and maintain our competitive edge in the InsurTech space.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in backend development with Python and Django.
  • Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including experience with services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
  • Experience with database management (PostgreSQL preferred.) and optimization.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of Indonesian regulatory requirements for data security and compliance.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
