Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Possible CTH
Location: Chennai
Max Bill Rate: 12
Position Summary:
Provide payroll support for employee, vendor, and government inquiries. Complete secondary validation of payroll reconciliation for each pay cycle. Provide contingency support for corporate payroll functions including payroll processing/review, payroll taxes, reviewing, and suggestions for policy or process revisions. as internal controls and ad hoc reporting. Maintain data requirements necessary for vendor relationships and compliance. Ensure payroll tax payments are in compliance with applicable country and local tax laws. Provide support to global payroll managers through stakeholder collaboration.
Principal Responsibilities:
Provide contingency support for APAC payroll. Prepare payroll and tax funding memo wires manager approval.
Ongoing review and update of payroll related policies and procedures (both systematic and user functional) are current and ensure data integrity while minimizing manual effort to ensure compliance.
Review reports associated with government payroll filings to ensure compliance and accuracy
Respond to employee or vendor inquiries related to payroll
Remain current on new legislation and regulatory ruling impacting payroll.
Validation of new benefits and changs that are required by the government as it relates to Payroll including computations, withholding, and deductions associated with net earnings are implemented.
Monitor internal controls to ensure integrity of the Payroll Administration processes.
Work with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues and streamline processes.
Work with Human Resources staff relating to changes in pay rates, withholdings, benefits and special pays, i.e. incentive and sign-on bonuses impacting payroll
Coordinate activity with Treasury Department to ensure proper funding of payroll and payment of amounts withheld.
Provide continuous improvement opportunities to payroll leadership and stakeholders
Validation of accurate deductions and earnings from payroll reports
Work on AD HOC projects as assigned
Provide internal/external audit documents as needed
Experience:
A minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll, tax reporting and tax compliance, strongly required; with at least 4 years in a processing role in an APAC region and expertise
Knowledge & Skills:
ADP Streamline/Celergo experience preferred
ADP Managed services experience preferred
Proficient with MS Office Suite: (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to complete data mining, analysis, and interpret payroll data
Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service skills, leadership and team building skills
Education, Training &/or Certification:
Previous payroll training through experience or coursework
