Employment Type Permanent Closing Date 14 Nov :59pm Job Title Senior Business Strategy Specialist Job Summary Job Description As a Business Strategy Senior Specialist, you play a critical role in shaping the future of the business by contributing to Telstra's long-term strategy. Your strength in teamwork supports you in collaborating with a range of stakeholders and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business. You apply your exceptional analytical and communication skills to solve complex business problems, including facilitating decision making around strategic priorities. Your ability to spot and analyse new and emerging market trends allows you to be a key contributor in solving critical business issues at Telstra. You will be involved in defining the next wave of growth for our business. As Telstra has a centralised strategy function, you will have the opportunity to work across several interesting areas of the business, including: Telstra Consumer, Telstra Business, Telstra Enterprise, Product & Technology, and/or Telstra International. You will also work on a wide breadth of strategic project types. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES You will bring your role to life by: Solving complex problems - Actively leverage knowledge, commercial acumen, and strategic expertise to solve complex problems and provide input into decision making with the broader team to drive the development and articulation of a clear strategic direction for Telstra Creating data-driven strategies – Utilise data and analytics to understand commercial problems, extract and communicate meaningful information, and help uncover the root cause of issues to develop data-driven strategies Developing and articulating clear strategic direction – Drive the thinking around Telstra's long-term strategy, leveraging a breadth of knowledge to develop long term plans, formulating new strategic frameworks as needed Analysing emerging trends and translating insights into actionable strategies – Leverage substantial expertise and experience in designing actionable business strategies to analyse new and emerging trends and evaluate their impact on Telstra’s long-term needs Engaging and influencing key stakeholders – Collaborate with and present to multiple stakeholders, including peer group and senior executives, seeking support, direction, and buy-in to generate solutions to complex problems and/or remove organisational barriers as required. Effectively translating and communicating key information – Prepare decision making materials for the CEO, their leadership team and the Board (e.g., papers, workshops and war games) to drive senior engagement and draw out insights to achieve Telstra’s strategic objectives. ABOUT YOU Your leadership skills and strategic expertise see you work with complex stakeholder groups at various levels and across business unit. In doing so, you play the role of trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including our C-suite, the CEO, and the Board. In addition, you will have: Management consulting and/or strategy experience A strong ability to apply solid business acumen and be commercially astute Strong financial and P&L knowledge Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with an ability to build credibility with senior leaders and executive stakeholders Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to build sustainable, scalable solutions and processes to meet complex strategic problems We fully embrace flexibility and choice at Telstra, and it is as unique as you.
