Database Developer

Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain relational and non-relational databases to support business applications.- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions for high performance.- Collaborate with software developers to design database schemas, data models, and integrations.- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across systems.- Monitor and tune database performance, including indexing, query optimization, and partitioning.- Assist in database design for new applications and ensure adherence to best practices.- Implement and manage data migration, ETL processes, and data integration pipelines.- Work with DBAs on backup and recovery, security management, and user access controls.- Support testing, debugging, and deployment of database components.- Document database designs, architecture decisions, and procedures.- Stay updated with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.Required Skills & Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.- Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming.- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) is a plus.- Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.- Knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS) or data integration frameworks.- Experience with cloud databases such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL.- Understanding of performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:- Certifications such as:- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)- AWS Certified Database – Specialty- Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, or business intelligence systems.- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database deployment and version control (e.g., Liquibase, Flyway).- Knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages for data automation tasks.- Exposure to big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake, Redshift).
