Job Summary

Kaleidoscope is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled BIM Modeler to develop and manage BIM models for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Revit MEP and Navisworks, and a strong understanding of MEP design principles and interdisciplinary coordination.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Model Development: Create detailed 3D BIM models of MEP systems using Revit MEP and Navisworks.

Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other teams to ensure spatial coordination and clash-free integration of MEP systems within the overall design.

MEP Systems Design: Support in the design and layout of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as per codes, standards, and project specifications.

Clash Detection & Resolution: Perform clash detection and resolve model conflicts to ensure constructability and proper system coordination.

Quantity Takeoff & Cost Estimation: Use BIM models for accurate quantity extraction and preliminary cost estimation of MEP components.

Model Management & Documentation: Maintain and update BIM models throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring organized documentation, version control, and creation of as-built models.

BIM Standards Compliance: Adhere to project-specific BIM protocols and stay informed on evolving industry standards and best practices in MEP modeling.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Proficient in BIM software platforms such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.

Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design principles and construction methods.

Experience in BIM model development and management for MEP systems in construction projects.

Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC).
