Qualifications:
BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent.
10+ years of software development experience.
9+ years of experience working in Java with strong knowledge of Java fundamentals.
7+ years of experience developing Java applications in an enterprise setting.
Experience with Java 11 and above is a plus.
7+ years of experience with frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot.
Solid understanding of web fundamentals, protocol, and DOM.
Experience writing adaptive and responsive UI applications.
Experience building systems with an emphasis on high availability and low latency.
2+ years of experience driving solution design for features and playing a role of technical lead supporting an agile team of 8 engineers.
3+ years of experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices.
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery environments.
3-4 years of experience working in an Agile or SAFe development environment.
Solid understanding of distributed systems.
Proven experience building scalable web applications using Java.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot Microservices, relational and/or NoSQL databases (Cassandra preferred).
Experience with Spring WebFlux or any reactive experience.
Solid experience with SOLID principles and Java design patterns.
Domain-driven design and event sourcing experience with CQRS.
Experience writing applications for deployment on cloud environments, including OpenShift and Docker containers.
Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
Demonstrated experience with object-oriented design and coding with a variety of languages and proven ability to understand and use complex data structures and associated components.
Implementation or working experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using tools and automation capabilities such as JUnit, Mocking, TestNG, Jenkins, Git, Stash, and Jira.
Deep understanding of multithreading concepts with experience developing robust and scalable distributed server-side applications and algorithms.
Experience with contract testing methodologies, BDD, Cucumber framework, and TDD.
Familiarity with performance and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, App Dynamics).
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and EPHE environments.
Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and testing.
Strong technical capability with an intense desire to learn new skills and industry trends.
Collaborative work ethics to thrive on peer support and taking pride in products and capabilities delivered as a team.
Ability to balance priorities and break down complex problems into manageable chunks that can be delivered incrementally.
Must be willing and able to express new ideas, concerns, and opinions directly to the wider team, including tech and business partners, in team meetings, in person, or via video/teleconferencing.
Analytical skills and knack for looking for non-obvious solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Good attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate effectively.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a core member of an agile team that drives user story analysis and elaboration, designs, and develops responsive web applications using best engineering practices.
Perform hands-on software development, including writing code and unit tests, conducting proof of concepts, code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.
Perform ongoing refactoring of code and deliver continuous improvement.
Develop a deep understanding of integrations with other systems and platforms within the supported domains.
Bring a culture of innovation, ideas, and continuous improvement.
Challenge the status quo, demonstrate risk-taking, and implement creative ideas.
Manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team.
Work closely with product managers, backend, and other frontend engineers to implement versatile solutions to tricky web development problems.
Embrace emerging standards while promoting best practices and consistent framework usage.
Work with Product Owners to define requirements for new features and plan increments of work.
Drive automation and ensure automated test scripts are completed for new features in partnership with QA Engineers.
Perform all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications, including developing prototypes, writing new code, and creating APIs.
Design and build integration components and interfaces in collaboration with Senior Engineers, Architects, and Infrastructure Engineers as necessary.
Demonstrate a passion for continuous learning and willingness to adopt new technologies.
Mentor team members.
