Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marine Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of marine structures. This includes the construction and repair of ships, offshore platforms, and other marine vessels and structures. The role requires a strong understanding of marine engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:


Design and Development:

  • Develop detailed designs for marine structures, including ships, offshore platforms, and other marine vessels.
  • Use CAD software to create and modify designs.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations.


Construction and Maintenance:

  • Oversee the construction and installation of marine structures.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of existing marine structures to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Coordinate with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders during construction and repair projects.


Project Management:

  • Manage projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Prepare project schedules, budgets, and reports.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.


Technical Analysis:

  • Perform technical analysis and simulations to test the feasibility and performance of designs.
  • Analyse data from tests and inspections to inform design improvements.


Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure all marine structures meet safety and environmental standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards.


Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines, including structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in marine engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of marine engineering principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in marine engineering.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Marine Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with offshore platforms and subsea engineering.
  • Familiarity with advanced simulation and modelling software.
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments.
