About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mission Control Engineer / Flight Dynamics Engineer to join our Space Division. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in orbit determination, maneuver design, and spacecraft control systems, with hands-on experience in mission planning, analysis, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mission Design & Analysis: Develop and analyze spacecraft trajectories, orbit determination, maneuver design, and collision avoidance strategies.
  • Control Systems: Design and implement spacecraft attitude and orbit control, including station-keeping and de-orbit maneuvers.
  • Simulation & Modeling: Create and run simulations to predict spacecraft behavior under various conditions using tools like STK, GMAT, MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Ground Operations Support: Support LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase), in-orbit verification, and routine operations.
  • Anomaly Resolution: Diagnose and resolve real-time issues related to spacecraft dynamics and control.
  • Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, reports, and mission operation procedures.
  • Software Development: Develop and maintain software tools for flight dynamics and mission analysis.

Specific Tasks

  • Calculate precise spacecraft position & velocity from tracking data.
  • Plan and optimize orbit changes, station-keeping, and collision avoidance maneuvers.
  • Analyze conjunction risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and forecast propellant usage to maximize mission life.
  • Ensure correct spacecraft orientation for mission objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Astrodynamics, Space Science, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of orbital mechanics, celestial mechanics, and astrodynamics.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar.
  • Experience with STK, GMAT, or other simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of spacecraft control algorithms and satellite systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in operational spacecraft missions.
  • Familiarity with international space mission standards and processes.
  • Exposure to multi-satellite or constellation mission operations.
