Vice Chancellor

Position Overview:The Vice Chancellor (VC) serves as the chief executive officer of the university and is responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring academic excellence, fostering innovation, and upholding the university's mission. As per UGC guidelines, the Vice Chancellor is expected to promote quality education, encourage research initiatives, and uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency. The VC will be the Secretary of BOG and Chairman of BOM , Academic Council and other important committees.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Vision and LeadershipFormulate and implement a forward-looking vision and strategic plans for the university's growth and development.Guide the university towards excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.Academic and Administrative ManagementEnsure academic programs meet high-quality standards as per UGC norms and accreditation bodies.Oversee the recruitment, retention, and development of a skilled faculty and administrative team.Administer financial and human resources effectively to align with the institution’s objectives.Research and DevelopmentPromote a research culture by supporting interdisciplinary and innovative research initiatives.Foster collaborations with national and international universities, industries, and research organizations.Ensure compliance with UGC guidelines and other statutory bodies for quality and research ethics.Student-Centric DevelopmentCreate an environment conducive to holistic student development and learning.Facilitate opportunities for skill development, placements, internships, and extracurricular engagement.Compliance and GovernanceAdhere to and promote the regulations of UGC and other governing bodies.Maintain transparency and accountability in all aspects of university administration.Prepare the University for accreditation and rankings at the National and International level.International and Industry EngagementStrengthen university-industry linkages for strategic tie-ups, collaborative research, and job placements.Lead initiatives for International tie-ups and collaborations.Eligibility Criteria (As per UGC guidelines):Educational QualificationsA distinguished academic record with a Doctorate in Management.ExperienceMinimum of 10 years of experience as a Professor in a university or 10 years of equivalent experience in a reputed research or academic organization.Demonstrated leadership skills with proven academic and administrative experience. Prior experience of working as a Vice Chancellor/ Pro- Vice-Chancellor or a similar senior leadership position is a must.Age LimitThe preferred age range is typically between 50 and 65 years, although this may vary based on specific institutional requirements.Desirable Attributes:A strong commitment to academic excellence and high ethical standards.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Visionary leadership qualities with a collaborative approach to institutional development.Understanding of technology in education and an inclination to integrate technology for enhancing academic quality and operational efficiency.
