Job Title: Software & Controls – Functional Safety & Cybersecurity EngineerLocation:Gurgaon & Chennai ( 2 Positions )CTC / Budget:Up to ₹20 LPAExperience Required: 5 to 7Years in Functional Safety & Cybersecurity (with at least 2–3 years specifically in Cybersecurity)Education Qualification:B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech inElectronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or Controls Engineeringfrom recognized universities.Industry:Job DescriptionTheFunctional Safety & Cybersecurity Engineerwill be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all safety and cybersecurity-related activities within automotive software and controls development projects. The role ensures compliance with global standards such asISO 26262 (Functional Safety)andISO 21434 (Cybersecurity)while collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, including AVL teams and customers.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and executeFunctional Safety and Cybersecurity activitiesas per ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 standards.ConductHazard and Risk Analysis (HARA) ,Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) , and define corresponding safety and security concepts.Develop and maintainFunctional Safety Concepts (FSC) ,Technical Safety Concepts (TSC) , andSecurity Concepts & Requirements .Ensure compliance withUNECE WP.29 R155/R156for cybersecurity management.Support activities likepenetration testing ,fuzz testing ,vulnerability analysis , and coordinate with relevant test teams.Perform and documentsafety analysissuch asFMEA ,FMEDA ,FTA , andDFAfor systems and components.Contribute tosystem-level FMEA/FTAandhardware safety assessments .SupportFunctional Safety Management (FSM)activities including safety plans, safety cases, and safety validation reports.Validate software safety requirements usingMATLAB/Simulinkmodels (preferred).Lead and mentor cybersecurity team members, ensuring adherence to project timelines and safety/security goals.Participate in internal and externalproject reviews , audits, and assessments.Collaborate with customers and suppliers for requirement analysis, definition, and resolution of safety/security issues.Ensuredevelopment according to ISO 26262 ASIL levels A–D .Efficiently utilize resources to meet project deliverables.Competencies / Skills RequiredStrong understanding ofISO 26262(Part 3 & 4 preferred) – Functional Safety Concepts and Methods.Hands-on experience withISO 21434andUNECE WP.29compliance.Knowledge ofautomotive systems architectureand embedded software.Experience withTARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, DFA, and safety case creation .Exposure tothreat modeling ,penetration testing , andvulnerability managementprocesses.Stronganalytical and conceptual skills .Excellentproject management and leadershipabilities.Effectivecommunication and collaborationskills.Proficiency inEnglish(written and verbal).Willingness totravelas per project needs.Interview ProcessRound 1:Virtual InterviewRound 2:Face-to-Face Interview (with HOD)
