We're seeking an experienced Web Developer to join our team immediately. This contract role involves building and maintaining websites, web-based applications, and internal tools that support customer-facing portals, marketing initiatives, and business operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the founders and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and performant web solutions aligned with business goals.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain our primary website and modern web applicationsCreate and consume RESTful APIs to integrate services and applicationsWrite clean, maintainable, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code and documentationOptimize website and application performance focusing on Core Web Vitals and page speedParticipate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous improvement initiativesWork within Agile development workflows using Azure DevOps (ADO) for project management and sprint planningCollaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical recommendations, and deliver tailored solutionsRequired Skills3+ years of professional web development experienceStrong proficiency in PHP and WordPress development (theme/plugin customization, Roots/Bedrock framework, Gutenberg blocks)Experience with React, JavaScript or TypeScript with Node.js and NPM (or similar) package manager and bundlers like Webpack or ViteExperience with design collaboration tools such as Figma for UI handoff, prototyping, and component alignmentSolid understanding of frontend frameworks including Tailwind CSS and BootstrapUnderstanding of SEO fundamentals and performance optimization techniquesExperience with MySQL and MongoDB including schema design, query optimization, and data modelingExperienced with Jira and ConfluenceProficiency with Git version control and collaborative development workflowsKnowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA) and ADA complianceStrong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical team membersExperienced with Python, webforms and databasesFamiliarity with testing frameworks (Jest, PHPUnit, React Testing Library, or similar)Familiarity with Static Site Generators (SSGs) such as Astro, Hugo, or JekyllUnderstanding of web security principles including SSL/TLS, cryptography, secure authentication, OWASP Top 10 guidelines, and GDPR complianceKnowledge of .NET and C# for API development and managementExperience with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), OIDC, and OAuth 2.0 for authentication and authorizationExperience with Docker and containerization concepts for development and deployment
