Job Summary:  

We are seeking a diligent & experienced Mortgage Loan Processor to process mortgage loan applications and ensure the smooth completion of the loan process. This role involves collecting and verifying documentation, communicating with clients and underwriters, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The position requires a thorough understanding of mortgage underwriting principles and excellent decision-making skills.


Responsibilities:  

  • Knowledge: Minimum 1+ years of experience, In-depth knowledge of US mortgage lending regulations and guidelines, including Non-QM mortgages.  
  • Loan Evaluation: Review and analyze mortgage loan applications, including borrower’s credit history, employment history, income, assets, and property valuations.  
  • Risk Assessment: Assess risk factors and determine the eligibility of loan applicants based on established guidelines and criteria.  
  • Compliance: Ensure all underwriting decisions comply with federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.  
  • Documentation: Verify and validate all required documentation to support loan approval or denial.  
  • Decision Making: Approve, deny, or recommend loan applications for further review, providing clear and concise reasons for decisions.  
  • Communication: Communicate with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and clarify details.  
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of accuracy and completeness in loan file documentation.  
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on underwriting activities and decisions.  
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in mortgage underwriting.


Requirements:  

  • Experience: Proven experience as a mortgage loan processor or in a similar role. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex financial information. 
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and documenting loan applications. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in mortgage automated underwriting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word. 
  • Decision Making: Ability to make sound, independent decisions while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. 
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Bilingual preferred.
