We are looking for a technically strong program manager for a new large launch in the Insurance and Travel space of Amazon Pay India. Our team works on building a highly resilient, fault-tolerant & localized Insurance solution.
In this role, you will work closely with multiple software development, product, legal, marketing and operations teams across Amazon. The new platforms launched for India as part of this launch will be expected to scale in the next 2-3 years for other Amazon geographies world wide as well. Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail driven and have excellent problem solving abilities. You should not only be passionate about delivering extensible, on-time solutions, but should also be obsessed with contributing to the development of high-performance teams through rigorous goal-setting, disciplined attention to performance metrics, continuous process improvement, and mentorship.
The launch will involve a diverse technology stack spanning SOA, UI frameworks, big-data and ML algorithms. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a team that is responsible to build a successful, sustainable and strategic business for Amazon, from the ground up
Key job responsibilities
1) You will work with multiple stakeholders to assemble project teams, assign responsibilities, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
2) You will influence strategic technical as well as business decisions.
3) You will keep multiple stakeholders including senior Amazon leadership updated on the progress, call out risks, anticipate bottlenecks, perform escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance business needs versus technical constraints, and, encourage risk taking behavior to maximize business benefit.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
