Title: Data Manager Location: Pune/Hyderabad/Bangalore and Others (On a Case-by-Case Basis), Remote/Hybrid Work (2 days WFO) No of Positions: 4 Technical Skills: Strong domain data understanding and data analytics Functional: Strong Business Analysis(Lead BA, Proxy PO Skills), Agile/ Scrum, Project and Stakeholder Management, Team Management. Job Profile Summary: As a Data Manager in our Wells and Subsurface (WSS) team, you will provide data support to bp s WSS central disciplines with a focus on subsurface and wells data. You will provide a high level of WSS expertise and context within the digital and data teams that enables our operating entities to deliver safe and reliable operations. You will also be a key player in driving continuous improvement in business and company performance through data management, workflow modeling, risk identification, project and product development, and more. In this role, you support the development of digital products for bp, specifically focusing on WSS data, workflows and activities across the company. We're passionate about product development and driving value creation. We set data governance, internal standards, and external regulatory and legal requirements. Our aim is to create a unified, integrated high-value platform, promote data democratization, and continuously improve the data assets. Responsibilities: Own the process by which curated subsurface data is validated with SMEs in subsurface business. Lead technical conversations relating to validation and technical assurance of curated subsurface data. As part of our team, you will work alongside other key digital subject areas, combining your knowledge of both WSS practice and experience with the latest data tooling. Together, we will drive the curation of bp s subsurface data. Develop relationships with team members across multiple business entities, understanding use cases, data requirements, and value cases. Help develop and ensure that use cases, value cases, acceptance criteria, the definition of done, and important metrics are clearly gathered, tracked, and aligned with our strategy. Key Skills: Demonstrable competency with a wide range of subsurface and wells data types. Ability to liaise with wells and subsurface Discipline Leads/SMEs on data requirements. Strong working knowledge of subsurface data/workflows. Available during at least 3-4 Houston working hours. Project management experience in agile desirable. Strong data analytics skillsets working with large datasets. Data visualization skills to determine trends/outliers an advantage (eg: powerbi). Qualifications and Experience: Degree in relevant field, technical and/or business related. 10+ yrs subsurface data hands-on experience as data manager, SME, product owner etc. Experienced and proficient in data analytics tools, data architecture, data management. Ability to collaborate with technical professionals with relation to digital and technology. Experience in liberating data , establishing data as an asset and promoting a culture of innovation and relentless improvement.
