As the Lead Node.js Engineer at Torry Harris, you will be responsible for spearheading the development of our Node.js projects, ensuring that they meet our high standards for quality, performance, and security. You will collaborate with a team of talented developers and engineers to design, implement, and maintain complex, scalable, and reliable software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of Node.js applications and microservices
- Drive the technical architecture and implementation decisions, ensuring best practices and adherence to company standards
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, and translate them into effective software solutions
- Mentor and coach junior developers, providing guidance and support to help them grow and excel in their roles
- Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software solutions
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and proactively apply them to improve our technical offerings
Key Requirements:
- Extensive experience in developing and deploying Node.js applications and microservices
- Strong understanding of JavaScript, as well as modern frameworks and libraries such as Express.js, Hapi.js, or Koa.js
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team of developers
- Solid understanding of software development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and implementing cloud-native solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
