Middle Office (Reconciliations) – Senior Analyst

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst – Middle Office (Reconciliations) to join our team. The role involves managing the Investment Book of Record (IBOR), overseeing reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring timely resolution. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fixed income asset classes, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in liaising with stakeholders across time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Investment Book of Record (IBOR).
  • Review daily reconciliations, identify breaks, and ensure prompt investigation and resolution.
  • Liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including custodians and street counterparties.
  • Apply deep knowledge of fixed income asset classes, including:
  • "Corporate Bonds, Municipal Bonds, Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Corporate Private Placements, Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS), Bank Loans, Syndicate Loans."
  • Oversee the complete trade lifecycle for the above asset classes
  • Interpret and troubleshoot issues based on offering terms and fundamentals of the asset classes.
  • Handle corporate actions, principal and interest events, and PIK (Payment-in-Kind) events.
  • Collaborate with large, cross-functional teams located in different time zones.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry in systems such as Bloomberg.
  • Work with IBOR platforms such as SimCorp and ClearWater; asset manager experience preferred.
  • Leverage advanced Excel and Power BI for reporting, analysis, and dashboards.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred).

Experience:

  • 5+ years in middle office operations, reconciliations, or investment operations.
  • Proven experience with Bloomberg.
  • Exposure to IBOR systems like SimCorp and ClearWater.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Excel (macros, pivot tables, lookups).
  • Power BI (preferred).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Problem-solving mindset with analytical skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across geographies.
